Ultimate Series-Named After Our Most Esteemed Violinists (now available)

Nathan Milstein was born in the then Russian Empire, to a family with no musical background. A precocious child, his mother, whereupon learning about her son's interest in the violin, forced lessons upon him. Teachers included Stolyarsky and the eminent Auer, the latter who invited the young Milstein to learn with him at The St Petersburg Conservatory(very telling of his immense talent). He deviated from Auer's pedagogy but in a way that both were critical of but also admired by Auer, that earned his ”sarcastic remark" ,"listen to the Black Sea technique". He traveled throughout Europe with his friend, the great pianist Horowitz, joined later by Piatigorsky, the cellist; before moving and settling in America. The Formative Years is voiced similarly to the raw but bold and expressive freedom of his mastery then in the instrument.

Milstein - Formative Years (Basic Tier)

From USD $1200 and upwards

Milstein- The Master(Tier 2)

Tier two-The Master: Paganiniana:could singularly be definitative of this stage of Milstein. It was composed by him in his fifties and for the first time, Paganini was made logical- with more structure than Paganini or Kreisler could ever write, and he performed that with nonchalance, with a depth few could reach. Milstein-The Master tonally and in character matches this period of his mastery, total control with unfettered realism-a cable like Milstein in this stage, without peer, except for Heifetz. Power cords and interconnects, balanced and rca, and speaker cables

Milstein- True Mastery(Tier 3)

Milstein-True Mastery: Heifetz once commented Milstein had the "perfect bow-arm". He did only the necessary, yet the music is fully conveyed in truth and depth, especially his rendition of the Bach Sonatas and Partitas in 1975, for which he got a grammy award for. He also was awarded the Kennedy Honors by the then president of the US, Ronald Reagan, and the last video of his recital in Stockholm, where although frail, at the age of 82, if you close your eyes and just listen, you hear just perfect notes and intonation. Milstein-True Mastery series captures both- purity and intent, allowing recordings to sound as they were recorded, as originally intended. Power cords, interconnects-balanced and single ended and speaker cables
